Strengthening a Just Transition in the Automotive Industry

We are aligning Greener Industry and Cleaner Transport
– Together, for a Just Future

A Just Transition Needs Both Sides of the Story

Europe’s green transition is gaining pace — but industry and mobility are still treated as separate.

We believe they must go together. Only then can green mobility mean good jobs, fair chances, and strong regions.

What We're Tackling

Automotive worker

Many regions in Central and Easter Europe rely on automotive workers. As the industry shifts to electric vehicles, these areas risk being left behind – job losses and social dislocation.

Meanwhile, mobility strategies often focus on cities, whereas the broader regional scale level is not considered. Therefore, we are connecting green production with clean consumption and local job security in the regional level.

Let's Rethink Mobility
– Together

This is not just about switching engines. It is about creating inclusive strategies and policies, so that communities, workplaces, regions and the global environment benefits from from the green transition.

Join us in reshaping mobility and industrial policy — for a greener, fairer, and more resilient future.

What We're Building

We are helping regions in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia create powerful Just Mobility Transition strategies. Together with unions, employers, local authorities, educators and other actors, we:

  • Build knowledge on what just mobility transition means at the regional level
  • Train stakeholders to collaborate effectively
  • Develop practical tools for policy and decision-making
  • Support long term change through cooperation and dialogue

Our Tools for Change

Our digital Just Mobility Transition Toolkit will include:

  • A self-assessment tool for regions
  • A database of good practices
  • Strategic guidance for policymakers
  • Methods for meaningful stakeholder engagement

All tailored to the realities of and ready to scale across the automotive regions in Central and Eastern Europe.
